C.M. Macchine designed Semi-Automatic Finger Joint machines for laminated beams to perform finger milling on the ends of two boards and finger joint type joining. The machines are completed with a glue unit for a perfect seal of the slats.
The Finger Joint semi-automatic milling machine mod. MILL 200 is a machine designed by C.M. Macchine to perform finger milling of laminated beams. Milling carried out on the ends of two boards by a milling carriage with vertical movement driven by a hydraulic cylinder.

MODEL COMPOSITION
The Semi-Automatic Milling Machine model MILL 200 consists of:
FEEDING ROLLERS
The machinery is made up of feeding and positioning rollers at the entry of the machine.
PIECE-BLOCKING CLAMPS
Hydraulic clamps, one of which is FIXED to block the piece already positioned at the entrance and one MOBILE to carry out the Finger Joint milling operation.
MILLING GROUP
The milling group is integrated into the machine structure and consists of the following units:
- MILLING UNITS with fixed speed
- PIECE-BLOCKING CLAMPS equipped with high capacity hydraulic cylinders for both vertical and horizontal thrust with pneumatic pushers, all adjustable according to the section of the piece to be joined.
THE PHASES IN DETAIL
WORKING PROCESS
The manufacturing process of the Semi-Automatic Finger Joint MILL 200 consists of three phases:
1. The piece is manually positioned in the machine to start the milling cycle, which is automatic.
2. Once the milling has been carried out, the "mill holder" carriage stops at the top allowing the passage of the milled board at the entrance on the other end.
3. Subsequently, the cutter carriage is lowered and consequently the two flushes against which the tables are repositioned. A new milling cycle starts again.
The cycle time, excluding the pieces positioning, is approximately 4-6 seconds.
